John and Cheryl 2010

- John & Cheryl Feb. 16, 1985
Today, John and I celebrate 25 years of being married. It really doesn’t feel that long even though I tease that we’ve been married for 50 years for the fact that we work together, sleep together, eat together and then start it over the next day. :)
It has been quite the journey. When we first got married we owned a duplex and rented out the other side and we both worked retail. I remember that we would call each other every day and just talk because we were usually on opposite schedules. We’ve always been quite taken by the other one and that really hasn’t changed over the years. Now, we just know and anticipate how the other one is going to react to what is said or done and that makes it a little more difficult at times, but overall, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Together, we have built a successful business and still like each other. LOL! People always look at me funny when I say ” we still ‘like’ each other”. Of course we love each other, but we still like what the other one represents and we enjoy being with each other. Strange, because there are days…. never mind.
I just wanted to publically acknowledge that I have a great husband and I would do it all over again. We are complete opposites which causes a little bit of friction, but it is never boring. Maybe that is why it works. Never a dull moment.
We are still trying to decide how and where we want to celebrate this milestone, but we are going to wait for a few months. Next weekend we are going to the Four Seasons and enjoying the spa and having dinner and just relaxing. NO BUSINESS TALK.
I thought I would share our wedding photo and then how we look now. The photographs of us now are from my friend, Amber & her husband, Mike’s wedding. I was lucky enough to be her matron of honor and thought it ironic that they were getting married just as we are celebrating 25 years.
Here’s to many more years of married and business bliss. (hmmm…we’ll see!!)
